Apple plans stricter permissions for full Mac disk access
Apple plans to require very explicit user action before granting apps Full Disk Access (a Mac permission that largely bypasses ordinary privacy controls). The permission can expose files, mail, messages and browsing history, including other people's conversations. Jason Aten said Muse referenced private Messages without explicit permission; Meta disputed his account and says both Full Disk Access and its Messages connector must be enabled. Security expert Patrick Wardle challenged Meta's explanation because the system permission technically permits broad file reading regardless of the app's connector setting.
Positive - Apple plans stronger approval steps for Full Disk Access, putting clearer consent checks between AI agents and private Mac data.

Circuit Breaker Labs tests chatbots with simulated users
Expert-built simulated users at Circuit Breaker Labs test harmful chatbot responses that can emerge during ordinary conversations. They represent different ages, languages, cultures and speech patterns, using slang, typos and coded language to examine risks that build over many exchanges. The company says it runs tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of interactions daily and produces scores developers can audit for high-risk applications, including AI coaching, journaling and mental-health support.
Positive - Circuit Breaker Labs runs diverse simulated-user tests with auditable scores, making harmful behavior in high-risk chatbots easier to detect and measure.
