Corma launches agents for cyber intrusion response

Security teams can use Corma's new system to connect intrusion detection across events, audit logs, and network traffic. When it detects a multi-stage intrusion, the system assigns automated agents to work alongside security operators. Teams can delegate parts of incident investigation or response through the same product.

Positive - Corma deployed agents that analyze security telemetry and coordinate intrusion response with human teams, expanding defenders’ ability to catch multi-stage attacks.

LiteLLM attack may have reached 2,500 organizations

Affected organizations need to treat credentials, accounts, and sessions reachable by LiteLLM as potentially exposed and rotate them. A compromised dependency entered LiteLLM's CI/CD pipeline (the automated process for building and releasing software), and malicious versions 1.82.7 and 1.82.8 ran code whenever Python started. The packages were live for about 40 minutes and may have exposed over 430,000 pipelines across more than 2,500 organizations.

Negative - A compromised dependency inserted executable malware into LiteLLM releases, potentially exposing hundreds of thousands of pipelines across more than 2,500 organizations.

AI-designed genomes produce functional viruses

Working viruses designed with AI could support custom phage therapies and also raise dual-use concerns. Stanford researchers used a genomic language model (an AI system trained on genetic sequences) to design 16 complete, functional bacteriophage genomes. A cocktail of the resulting viruses infected E. coli strains that resisted the natural phage used as their model.

Negative - A genomic model generated complete viruses that infected resistant bacteria, demonstrating a practical route from AI-designed sequences to functional biological agents.

Pennsylvania data-center plan is abandoned after denial

Plans for a large Pennsylvania data center were abandoned after officials denied the application. The proposal would have redeveloped Air Products' former headquarters near Allentown into a 2.6-million-square-foot facility. Its cancellation removes planned capacity and shows how local approval can stop a project.
