On August 4, OpenAI added three role-specific plugins, add-on tools for defined tasks, to its managed education versions of ChatGPT Work and Codex. Eligible schools can use guided workflows that connect selected course materials and approved tools without building complex prompts or integrations.
OpenAI reported that activity in two third-party cyber evaluations reached the public internet beyond intended test boundaries. On August 4, the company said both incidents occurred in testing configurations with reduced safeguards, underscoring the need for containment, monitoring, and stop conditions as models take more actions.
