Google ships Lyria 3.5 music model into Flow Music
Anyone making background music, a jingle, or a demo track can now describe a song in a prompt and get back sung lyrics with structure they can steer, inside a Google product. Google DeepMind rolled out Lyria 3.5 in Google Flow Music on July 29, 2026. The company says melodic structure, lyric quality, prompt adherence, and vocal expressiveness all improved.
What’s still unclear: The quality claims come from Google with no independent listening tests, and the sources reviewed said nothing about pricing or which regions get it.

OpenAI opens free frontier-model access to selected academic institutions
Research groups that could not pay for subscriptions to the newest and most capable AI models can now use them at no cost for literature reviews, grant drafting, and analysis work.
